A Suggestion to ease Unemployment

December 1, 2010

Congress failed to extend, unemployment benefits this week.  Apparently two years is a long enough extension.

In its place, I would suggest a policy that might alleviate at least some of the problem here.  My suggestion is that for any U.S. Citizen who has been unemployed for over a year, if a company hires him, that company doesn’t have to pay taxes on him for the next three years.

Now some may object that having a significant portion of the population not pay fica etc. for a while could “kill”  social security, but let’s be honest, that’s not even euthanasia at this point.  At most, you are kicking a corpse.
