A Quick Look at the LONG Potential Path to Full Employment.

June 8, 2010

When the Job numbers for May came out, we found out that about 450,000 jobs were created, but only 41,000 were in the private sector – 411,000 were temporary census jobs. Obama tried to put a spin on the numbers as has been noted by others, that the news “is a sign that our economy is getting stronger by the day.”

He’s obviously taking a VERY long view of our economy.

We currently have over 15 million unemployed people in this country. If we continue getting about 41,000 jobs each month, we will be fully employed in about thirty years. If our population doesn’t grow. And if we have a country left after, say, another twenty or so years of underemployment.

How good do those numbers look now?
