Blair Says the U.S. Can Assassinate American Citizens Too!
The Washington Post wrote this almost a week ago:
Director of National Intelligence Dennis C. Blair acknowledged Wednesday that government agencies may kill U.S. citizens abroad who are involved in terrorist activities if they are “taking action that threatens Americans.”
In response to questions from Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.), the panel’s ranking Republican, Blair said: “We take direct action against terrorists in the intelligence community. If that direct action, we think that direct action will involve killing an American, we get specific permission to do that.”
Notice that no one is talking about who GIVES the permission. Blair doesn’t explain what standard of proof is required to prove that an American “needed killin'” and there is no mention of rules put in place to ensure that the power of legally killing an American without giving him a trial, a defense, a jury or even an unbiased judge doesn’t get misused. Apparently, we are just supposed to trust that the whatever politician or bureaucrat happens to be in charge at any particular time will always be above corruption, sin or error.
Good luck with that one…
What is human warfare but just this; an effort to make the laws of God and nature take sides with one party.
