The Carnival of Homeschooling is Up
This week’s Carnival of Homeschooling is hosted by Tiffany at As For My House…* The Carnival has a very nice variety of blogs this time around – including mine – so go ahead and take a look.
I’ll be here when you’re done 🙂
*Taking her blog name from a REALLY fun scripture that is best appreciated in context! Joseph has just finished wiping the floor of the promised land with pretty much everyone who previously lived there. When he gets to the point that there is no longer anyone left to kill and he’s old and ready to die, he goes back home and lays into his own countrymen verbally. He tells the Israelites that they are all faithless pieces of dirt and God’s going to smack them down. He reads them the old testament version of the riot act and finishes up with this phrase.
The full quote is this: “Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
The Israelites repent and swear they will serve the Lord too, which satisfies Joshua enough that he can die in peace.
